Good.

You definately got your point across. It was a nice peice that told a nice little mini-story. Unfortunately I really dont like it. I personally would have liked a little bit less distortion. I would've liked it longer, with some kind of changes in the song. This sounds like an intro for something but the something never happens.

Other than that, good feel, good music, etc. Just not enough there to grab me.

uten responds:

it is an intro ...I'm planning on making a series out of 'The Creation and each part will come with a bit of the story I'm writing

Good

I didn't like the off-pitchness of the begining, but when the other synth came in, it all made very calming sence. But in my opinion this is too short to be called a song. This would make a nice loop though. Reminds me of the background music to Fishy sort of. Maybe you used a similar instrument?

You definately have talent, I just would've liked a nice full song.

Heyyy this is nice.

I liked the Lounge Lizard VST's but alas I use Reason and am therefor unable to use any VST's at all. I really like this song though. And who needs structure anyway? Chorus, verse, bridge... all conformations are lame in my opinion. They are only useful for music with lyrics, and even then they can be omitted without much trouble. In other words, I like this mess! :)

I like this one!

What do you do to make it sound so full? Second-Party software? This song sounds very professional. Lots of cool transitions to keep the listener interested. It's not like the traditional boring rave music, one solid beat that's the same as everything else. No, this music has style. It screams, "I didn't write this on my coffee break, I was inspired."

Music-story responds:

Well, to tell you the truth, I just put a bunch of instruments together to make it so full. Again, I didn't know anything about my music program when I made this. Now that I know a lot more about my music program, here are ways to increase fill. I think what your trying to say is how to get more fat. There are many ways to do this.

1) Increase the cutoff dial...the more intense means more fuzz. White noise also helps.
2) Add a fat equalizer to make umm more fat. :)
3) Add a "spreader" vst plugin to spread the sound evenly or unevenly across the speakers
4) Add delay and the more "feedback" you put on the delay the more fat you get. To make things really fat I suggest you use "Stereo delay" rather than tape delay.
5) Add multiple wave forms in unison. Eg. Create a instrument consisting of 3 different wave forms or a mixture of waveforms and digital waveforms
6) Use filters effectively. Modulation of the filters usually brings out a lot of fat.
7) You could do it the newbie way by increasing the distortion dial and color dial to max. However this only increases fat a little and is high risk for clipping to occur.
8) Slap a rotor cabinet plugin to improve fat. A rotor cabinet just spins the sound in a circle like shape between your stereo speakers.
9) With your synthesizer to make the instrument, put it to mono or poly along with unison enabled
10) You could use the vector envelope to create fat. Note that this is based on logic pro. I don't know what your program calls it. Basically a vector envelope modifies the instrument when you hold it down. Eg. Holding the note for a decent amount of time. (this is arbitrary because you can choose any amount of time you want for the vector envelope to take effect) You can modify the x and y coordinates of your waveforms as your holding onto the note....so the note will actually change in tune while holding the note. Just make it so that the x and y coordinates move toward a fatter waveform. This method is the most versatile yet the most time consuming.

There are other ways to increase fat/fill that I don't know yet but for this song I was just lucky to randomly modify the instruments to get a lot of fat. I'm disappointed with this song. However, if some one liked it than I'm happy too.

Chrono... something?

Theres a game called, ChronoCross? Something like that. Anyhow at the beginning of the game you are at a carneval and this song definately sounds like something that could play at that part of the game.

You need to start submitting more stuff! Your style has many similarities to mine, although its a bit more... sane? And I like it.

Music-story responds:

Cool, it is rare to get reviews on my happy music. Sorry, I don't submit on NG anymore. I have a bunch of songs made but never posted on NG. I don't like posting music on sites that have score rankings or download counts. I probably will post my songs on a personal webpage or something like that in the future. For me I like to make music cause it is fun and NG has been a huge deterrent for why I really make music. However, that's just how NG influenced me. Doesn't mean it is the same for everyone else. You actually got me interested in how your songs sound like. I'll go check one of yours right now. Bye for now.

Hello again.

Good to see you're still on newgrounds! You know, you're the one who actually got me interested in writing music in the first place! But thats back when I was really into flash and all I had was a cracked version of FL 5 I think... and I didnt know how to use it at all lol... but I think I'm a little better now. But so are you! Keep up the great work!

Also, who is mastering this stuff? Very well recorded.

ah!

Not a good song to listen to when my parents are sleeping! You made my woofer screaaam!!! This really reminds me of something though... I never forget a melody. I haven't really listened to techno since my DDR days but this techno was marijuana, this shit would be chronic.

k235 responds:

thanks a lot :)

i like!

After listening to a few of your songs this is probably my favorite so far and I wanted to leave a review but sme goddamn active-x control is making some of my letters dissapear! So I'll make this short.

I really liked this... the only thing that idn't rub me rightpersonally was te distortion. Given theright context it would probbly e fine but idk just something that I thought of. really good otherwise good job!

p4c responds:

haha stupid ie. get firefox dood!! :)

yeah, the distortion was kinda harsh, see above review/response. maybe if i expand on this later itll be worked in better, but as of now, im leaving it to work on other stuff. ty for the rev!

ok now wait a minute...

I'm going to give a 10 assuming you're not just getting the MIDI files for those songs and importing them into some music program and changing around the instruments... But if you are, and it sounds alot like it, then what the hell man? What the hell?

MooMan911 responds:

???

Sweet!

I love all the sounds that kind of play around in your head when you listen to this. Really kickin drum beat too. Great job on this one!

k235 responds:

why thx. i don't recall where i got that beat from..its a loop alright. hm :/
when i get back home tonight ill review a couple of your tracks!
